As a college student that is involved in several different activities, I understand the struggle of staying on top of everything. It's hectic! My weeks fill up very quickly and without these five tips, I would probably forget half of my appointments and meetings. So here they are:

1. Keep a planner. I have a small-sized planner that shows the calendar for each month and then breaks it down by day. This way I can write down my daily appointments on the calendar and homework assignments or reminders on the day's notes section. Honestly, I bring my planner everywhere with me. From date parties, skating lessons, class, and other fun activities on campus, it becomes very difficult for me to remember it all!

2. Make daily lists. Every single Sunday, I pull out my phone and make a list of things I have to do each day of that week. Now this I am much more detailed with than my planner. This might sound crazy... But once I am zoned in on a project or some other activity, I sometimes forget to make dinner, shower, or head to the gym. By keeping a daily list, I have something to refer to in order to stay on track.

3. Have a clean working space. I know that I can never focus if my bed is not made, if I have tons of dirty laundry, if the kitchen sink is full of dishes, or if there are random things thrown around the house. This way when it is time to focus, everything is in order and I can put all of my attention towards my next goal for the day.

4. Always remember great hygiene. When I feel clean and healthy, I work better. Showering, painting my nails, or applying a face mask always clears my mind and makes me feel fresh. Additionally, picking healthy meal options and taking the extra half hour to head to the gym allows you to maximize your energy for the day. These three simple concepts will refuel your body, allowing you to focus on whatever it is that you need to that day.

5. Leave some time for yourself. I know that if I am rushing or constantly working all day, I won't be productive. Everyone needs some time to themselves to relax and wind down. Maybe buy yourself some flowers, treat yourself to an unhealthy snack, have a quick jam session, watch an episode of your favorite show on Netflix, or journal about what happened so far that day. Whatever works for you and makes you feel good! This will help you be on time for your appointments, keep an open mind, and brighten up your day a bit!

These tips help me every single day. I have seen improvements in my grades, relationships, and even self-confidence. Staying organized is something I know many people have a hard time with. So try at least one of my tips and hopefully one of these ideas will work for you too!
