I love my sorority. I rushed Alpha Omicron Pi & I have made incredible memories that I will cherish forever. Here are 6 short reasons why!

Sisterhood & lifelong friendships. I have found many best friends; both those who live near me and those who live across the country. This sorority led me to people who I can trust, hang out with, study with, and completely act like myself. I also have the sweetest little in the world who was on the winning dodgeball Greek Week team so I'm a proud "mom" as well.

Philanthropy. Alpha Omicron Pi's philanthropy is the arthritis foundation. In order to help support this foundation, we put on two major events throughout the year. The first event is Strike Out Arthritis where we partner with the Miami baseball team and other MLB teams like the Cubs. The second is Rock On Omicron where we gather all dance, acapella, and theatre groups to put on a show. Ticket sales from both events are given to the foundation to support arthritis research and raise awareness. Supporting a cause makes a difference in the world and it can make you feel great on the inside too.

Social Events. My sorority has the privilege of attending socials with fraternities, semi formal, formal, and date parties. My favorite date party we attend every year is called AOPirate. This is where everyone dresses like a pirate and takes a bus down to the Ohio river in Cincinnati. Then we all get on BB Riverboats and get to enjoy ourselves with great music and food. Another social aspect I love is mom's and dad's weekends. These weekends are amazing because everyone gets a chance to meet each other's parents while attending events like a beer and wine tastings, golf outings, bowling, paint balling, shopping, and many more activities. The fun never ends.

Connecting with women across the country. I think the idea of being in a sorority is incredible. With just under 200 active chapters nationwide, we are the largest sorority in the country. Plus, with "Inspire Ambition" as a motto, just think of the change that we can create as one organization alone.

Awesome, cute photoshoots. Who doesn't love great pictures and video opportunities? Every girl in my sorority is beautiful inside and out. So, I love being able to showcase who my sisters are and show the world that I'm a proud AOII sister.

Resume Builder. Yes being in a sorority has countless social and philanthropic opportunities. However, this is a great experience to describe on your resume. Maybe you held a position in your sorority, you maximized the volunteer opportunities available in your chapter, or the person interviewing you for an internship or job is in the same organization as you. Being in a sorority is a huge connection and something to really be proud of.

I have attached my sorority's webpage below. I love my sorority because it made me realize that I have second home. Rushing is about finding where you belong, so try it out! You never know what the journey ahead can hold.
